Ms. Maxey is originally from St. Petersburg, Florida, but later attended Brooksville Jr. High (now D.S. Parrott Middle School) and Hernando High schools. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Biology with minors in math and chemistry from St. Leo University. She has obtained a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from National Louis University. Ms. Maxey taught 1 year at USF and then taught science at Hernando High School. Towards the end of her 10 years at Hernando High she was their Assessment Teacher. Mrs. Maxey has been our Assessment teacher at Parrott since 2014. She is also the head of our ESOL department. Before teaching Ms. Maxey worked as a Jeweler and was a principal at an Insurance agency. You can most often find Ms. Maxey in her office in the Media Center planning the next assessment to be given at Parrott. Her favorite thing about Parrott is the students we are so lucky to work with and she is always available to help students and their parents regarding test results or scheduling. A fun fact about Ms. Maxey is that she loves Genealogy!
