Class Description:
Edgenuity courses are assigned to students who have failed one or more face-to-face classes. They are given access to a computer lab and a lab manager who can assist, motivate, and reset work as needed.
The only requirements for this course are that students maintain a pace that will enable them to finish and PASS a term's worth of work in a nine-week time period, which will be provided by the teacher, usually a minimum of 11% per week. Expectations and goals will be clearly defined to the student in class.
STUDENTS WHO FALL BEHIND PACE WILL BE DROPPED FROM THE PROGRAM. THEY WILL BE PLACED IN A FACE-TO-FACE CLASS, IF POSSIBLE, AND REQUIRED TO RETAKE THE ENTIRE COURSE. OR THEY MAY HAVE TO WORK FROM HOME.
All assessments are open-note, but students must use their OWN notes. Students are encouraged to take notes on Google Drive so that they are accessible from any location, but may also take notes on paper or use sketchnote techniques (CLICK HERE FOR TUTORIALS). Students who continuously refuse to take notes and fail coursework and/or assessments will be removed from the lab.
If students complete their work early, they may elect to take an Eschool course if they meet the requirements and space is available, OR their schedule will be changed to another elective.
